Composition
Enrofloxacin 50 mg – Excipients q.s. ad 1 ml.
Pharmacotherapeutic category
Antibacterial for systemic use (fluoroquinolones).
Properties
Enrofloxacin acts by inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase resulting in inhibition of DNA and mRNA synthesis. It has a concentration-dependent bactericidal action against Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasmas.
Indications
For the treatment of infections caused by enrofloxacin susceptible microorganisms, such as:
- Calves: infections of the respiratory tract (P. multocida, M. haemolytica, Mycoplasma spp.), the digestive tract (E. coli), septicaemia (E. coli), acute arthritis (Mycoplasma bovis).
- Pigs: infections of the respiratory tract (P. multocida, A. pleuropneumoniae, Mycoplasma spp.), the digestive tract (E. coli), septicaemia (E. coli).
Dosage, route and method of administration
IV, IM or SC injection: 2.5 – 5 mg enrofloxacin per kg BW (0.5 – 1 ml/10 kg BW), once daily for 3 to 5 days (Administration route, daily dose and duration depend on animal species & indication).

3 years.
Packaging
Vials of 100 or 250 ml.
Carton with 1, 6 or 12 vials.
