Composition

Tilmicosin 300 mg – Excipients q.s. ad 1 ml.

Pharmacotherapeutic category

Antibacterial for systemic use (macrolides).

Properties

Tilmicosin is a mainly bactericidal antibiotic that is believed to affect bacterial protein synthesis. It is predominantly active against Gram-positive microorganisms with activity against certain Gram-negative ones and Mycoplasma, such as Mannheimia, Pasteurella, Actinomyces / Corynebacterium, Fusobacterium, Dichelobacter, Staphylococcus, and Mycoplasma organisms of bovine and ovine origin.

Indications

For the treatment of respiratory disease (Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida) in cattle and sheep, interdigital necrobacillosis in cattle, foot rot in sheep (Dichelobacter nodosus, Fusobacterium necrophorum) and acute ovine mastitis (Staphylococcus aureus, Mycoplasma agalactiae).

Dosage, route and method of administration

Only for SC administration in cattle and sheep.
One single SC injection of 10 mg tilmicosin per kg BW (1 ml/30 kg BW).

Shelf-life

3 years.

Packaging

Carton with 1, 6 or 12 vials of 50, 100 or 250 ml.
